Four Extreme Adventures In Russia With Kosatka DV

Oleg Dokuchaev has established an extremely impressive track record of success in the extreme swimming world.

Not only did he serve as the organizer of the 86 km Bering Strait Swim from Russia to Alaska, dubbed The Most Dangerous Crossing In The World, but he also swam and organized four other extreme swimming adventures this year.

Dokuchaev and his team planned and organized four relays this summer in Far East Russia. He explained, “We organize open water competitions year round and organize long distance open water swimming events during the summer. We organize adventurous relays, inviting people to experience very extreme swims that adhere to the highest safety protocols. Our winter swimming club ‘Kosatka DV‘ has hundreds of swimmers where we organize open water competitions year round and long distance open water swimming events in summer. The following events are marathon eco-swims that raise environmental awareness of pristine areas in Russia.”

Amur River Swim

Dokuchaev explained, “The 75 km Amur River Swim on June 23rd was devoted to the 75th anniversary of The Great Patriotic War. Eight swimmers – Oleg DokuchaevMaria ChizhovaIvan DokuchaevOksana BeletskayaDmitry VoroninAleksander KomarovAleksey BalykovZaur Zakrailov, and Zelimkhan Istambulov – swam 75 km down the river and finished in Khabarovsk.”

Peter the Great Gulf Swim

Dokuchaev explained, “Oleg DokuchaevMaria ChizhovaIvan DokuchaevEugene ZozulyaPavel KomarovOksana BeletskayaVeronika KuznetsovaIgor GalaktionovAlexander SmirnovSergey TyurinDmitry VoroninRatmir VoroninZaur ZakrailovAndrey BugaiTatiana Aleksandrova, and Oleg Adamov swam 160 km around the Empress Eugénie Archipelago in the Peter the Great Gulf Swim between July 16th – 18th. The swim was performed in honor of the 160th anniversary of Vladivostok in the Peter the Great Gulf. The Governor of Primorsky region Oleg Kozhemyako swam the first 200 meters.

Lake Baikal Crossing

Dokuchaev explained, “Oleg DokuchaevMaria ChizhovaPavel KomarovEugene Zozulya, and Andrey Bugay completed a 50 km crossing of Lake Baikal in 16 hours 11 minutes.

Russky Round Swim

Dokuchaev explained, “The Russky Round Swim is our traditional 75 km swim around the Russky Island situated to the south of Vladivostok on September 20th. This year, we devoted it to the 75th anniversary of the end of the World War II. 14 swimmers changed legs every hour. We stopped at night and finished the next day in the center of the city. The swimmers included Oleg DokuchaevMaria ChizhovaIvan DokuchaevPavel KomarovIvan AlbutovSergey TyurinAlexey BalykovAleksander KomarovAlexey SorokopudLeonid SorokopudDmitry VoroninDmitry Voronin Jr.Dolgiy Valery, and Tatiana Aleksandrova.
